Forestry Mulching vs. Traditional Land Clearing
Two different tools for two different jobs
"Land clearing" and "forestry mulching" get used interchangeably, but they're really two different scopes of work. Understanding which one fits your property saves money and produces a finished site that actually looks like what you wanted.
What traditional land clearing looks like
Traditional clearing uses dozers, excavators, and grapples to push, cut, and pile material. Trees come down, stumps come out, and the debris ends up in piles that get burned, hauled, or chipped.
It's the right tool when the property needs to end up as bare, workable ground — think construction pads, new home sites, or full-site development.
What forestry mulching looks like
Forestry mulching uses a tracked machine with a cutter head that grinds brush and small trees directly into mulch spread on the ground. No piles, no burning, and typically less ground disturbance.
It shines on hunting land, trail systems, fence lines, and overgrown property where the goal is to open things up without stripping the site.

When to combine both
A lot of the best jobs use both. Mulch the outer property, do full clearing where the building or driveway is going, then finish grading. One contractor, one mobilization, one plan.
Which one is right for you?
The simplest way to figure it out: what do you want the property to look like when we're done? If it's a bare pad, that's clearing. If it's usable, open ground with the trees you want kept, that's usually mulching. If it's some of both, that's a lot of what we do.
